Isavel F.
Reyna
November 19, 1932 – February 27, 2026
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Isavel Flores Reyna. In the early morning on February 27, 2026, she took her last breath at the age of 93. Born in Brady, Texas on November 19, 1932, Isavel was the daughter of Luis Flores and Consuelo Villa.
Isavel grew up in Hondo, Texas, one of ten children. Born during the Great Depression, Isavel spent her youth working the fields alongside her father, Luis, who was a migrant farmer. In 1950, she married Ramon Reyna and moved to San Antonio, Texas. After the death of her husband in 1970, Isavel dedicated her life to raising her children alone. Isavel served her community for many years at the Good Samaritan Center where she worked as a cook until she retired. During her retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and working outside in her garden. Isavel loved to sing and spent 25 years singing in the church choir. Her favorite pass times were playing loteria and crafting. Isavel touched the lives of many people and will be remembered for her humor, her generosity and her willingness to open her home to those in need. During her last days, she was surrounded by the love of her children and her sisters.
Isavel is preceded in death by her husband, Ramon Reyna, her son, Richard Reyna, grand-daughter, ReaAnn Reyna, her brothers, Jose, Aureliano, Roberto and Oscar Flores and her sister Gudalupe Torres.
Isavel leaves behind a beautiful legacy of faith, love, and family. She is survived by her sisters, Olivia Trevino, Virginia Garcia, Gloria Sanchez, and Carol Morales; and by her children, Armando Reyna (Mary), Raul Reyna, Ramon Reyna, Sylvia Ramos, Adan Reyna (Belia), Alma Delia McCumber (Jim), Isabel Moran (Jerry), Javier Reyna (Michelle), Daniel Reyna (John), Mark Reyna (Celine), and Lorie Alaniz (Mike). She was the proud grandmother of 30 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She is also lovingly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
