Israel Lorenzo "Izzy" Gonzales

It is with great sorrow we announce our extraordinary son, Israel Lorenzo Gonzales, known as Izzy, earned his angel wings on April 12, 2021. Izzy was born on September 22, 2009, to parents, Samantha Rios and Israel Gonzales, in San Antonio, Texas.

Izzy was loved by many. He was flourishing into a handsome, kind, very loving young gentleman. He was a free spirit with this contagious smile and laugh that would brighten up the room. Izzy was incredible. He was creative, had a great imagination and when he put his mind to something he was passionate about it. He loved Marvel and superheroes. Captain American and The Winter Soldier were his favorites. He loved to dress up as different characters. He also loved to play Fortnite and Minecraft on his PS4 with his cousins and friends. He liked to play with Legos and could solve a Rubik's cube in one minute. His favorite movies were horror movies. He enjoyed watching WWE and playing with his WWE action figures and stage set. He was daring. He enjoyed getting on the roller coasters and water rides at Fiesta Texas. The Iron Rattler was his favorite. He loved swimming. His favorite food was macaroni and cheese. He loved to snack on Mexican sour candy and hot Cheetos while drinking "only" Big Red. He was definitely a Grandma's boy and loved her so much. Izzy was very thoughtful, generous and did everything with his whole heart and spirit. Izzy was the perfect boy.

Though physically gone, Izzy's memory will live forever amongst his parents, Samantha Rios and Israel Gonzales; sister, Illieanna Gonzales; grandparents, Bernice Navarro and Ray Gutierrez, Joann Quinones Gonzales and Jesus Gonzalez, Guadalupe Rios Jr.; great-grandparents, Adela Garza, Guadalupe Rios Sr, Guadalupe Quinones, Laura Gonzales, San Juana Gonzales and Miguel Gonzales; godparents, Gloria Rios and Roy Ramos Jr.; godbrothers, Elijah and Andrew Ramos, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, as well as other loving family and friends. Those that awaited his arrival in heaven are his great-grandparents, Gloria Rios, Juan R. Quinones and grandfather Miguel Gonzales.

The loss of Izzy is one that will be felt deeply for years to come. His love will remain in our hearts for all eternity.
