Jacob C
Mireles
October 20, 1966 – November 28, 2025
Jacob C. Mireles, 59, passed away on November 28, 2025, surrounded by loved ones after a hard-fought battle with cancer. Born on October 20, 1966, in San Antonio, Texas, to Felix and Yolanda Mireles, Jacob was the eldest of five siblings. His childhood took him between Hartford, Michigan and the south side of San Antonio as his family migrated for work. His upbringing taught him resilience, loyalty, and the importance of family.
As a teenager in Michigan, he played football for Hartford Middle School and baseball for Hilltop in Hartford, earning the admiration of cousins and teammates who remember him as a strong athlete and fierce competitor. These early years instilled in him a sense of discipline, strength, and perseverance.
He spent many years working in construction and carpentry in which he took pride and through which he built both a livelihood and a legacy of hard work.
Jacob is preceded in death by his parents, Felix (Chano) and Yolanda C. Mireles, and by his youngest sibling, Carlos Jesus Mireles. He is survived by his siblings Monica Mireles, Felix C. Mireles, and Veronica M. Ramos (Ruben R. Ramos), and numerous nieces and nephews who will forever cherish their memories of him.
Jacob was a father to five children—Brenda Mireles, Joseph Monsibais (Kristen Renãe Monsibais), Jacob Vincent Mireles (Danielle Mireles), Carlos Anthony Mireles, and Katherine Mireles. He was a proud and loving grandfather whose joy was immeasurable whenever he was with or speaking of his grandchildren.
His legacy continues through his beloved grandchildren: Frank Nicolas Salazar, Zachary Lee Mireles, Samuel Rodriguez Jr., Issac Mathew Rodriguez, Josiah Eli Rodriguez, Divinity Abigail Monsibais, Ethaniel Paul Monsibais, Joseph Monsibais Jr., Geronimo Toretto Monsibais, Ariella Renãe Monsibais, Baldemar "Bubba" Gonzalez, Athena Gonzalez, and Penelope Mireles.
Though Jacob often carried a quiet and serious demeanor, he shared many laughs and made great memories with close family and friends. He possessed a steady presence, but those who knew him best will remember the gentle heart beneath his strength and the deep, unwavering love he held for his family. His memory lives on in his children, grandchildren, and in all whose lives he touched—with kindness, resilience, and a quiet strength that will never be forgotten.
