Galvez
November 26, 1946 – April 15, 2025
Janie Galvez went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday April 15, 2025, at the age of 78. Janie was born on November 26, 1946 in Adkins, Texas. During her childhood years she lived in La Vernia, Texas before moving to San Antonio. She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years Andres Galvez.
Janie was a nurturing mother, grandmother, and mother-in-law; she had deep love for her family that will be cherished forever. Janie was a great example of being a woman of God. Her strength, dedication to God, great faith and prayers left a lasting impact on all who knew her. She was compassionate, caring and would go above and beyond for anyone.
Janie was a faithful member of Central Church of God (Iglesia De Dios Central) for over 50 years where she served in various ministries. Her cheerful personality, sense of humor, her wisdom, and most of all her prayers will be missed forever. Her love for art, crafting, and baking also remind us to appreciate the beauty and joy in life's simple things, as she always saw it.
Janie's legacy lives in the hearts of her children JoAnn (Damian), MaryJane (Ben), Andrew (Karen), RosaLinda (Tony), Dolores (Henry), Veronica (Seth),19 grandchildren,15 great- grandchildren, numerous friends and extended family.
Visitation will be held on Thursday May 1, 2025 at Central Church of God located at 210 Calles St. SATX 78207 from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. with a Prayer Service to be recited at 6 p.m. Chapel Service will be on Friday May 2, 2025 at Castillo Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. located at 520 N. General Mc Mullen Dr. SATX 78228, A procession will depart the funeral home with Interment to follow at San Fernando Cemetery #3.
The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to Lisa Jasso and Paola Rivera from Altus Hospice for the excellent care their mother received.
May the memories of Janie bring comfort to those who had the honor of knowing and loving her. And may her life be a reminder that a life filled with God's love and faith will lead us to salvation through Jesus Christ for eternal life.
