Jason Miles Steward, cherished son, brother, uncle, and veteran, passed away on March 21, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and boundless friendship. He was born on November 15, 1971, to his loving parents Rupert Miles Steward and Beatriz Lujan Steward.
Throughout his life, Jason was known for his infectious zest for life and his ability to light up any room. He had a remarkable gift for bringing people together and was truly the life of the party. His magnetic personality drew numerous friends from every corner of his life, forging deep and lasting connections wherever he went.
Jason's friends fondly remember him as a best friend to many, a beacon of joy and positivity in their lives. They recall his larger-than-life presence, his genuine kindness, and his unwavering loyalty. To them, Jason was more than a friend; he was a pillar of strength and support, always ready with a listening ear and a shoulder to lean on.
In the words of his friends, "This world has lost a huge heart," and indeed, Jason's absence leaves a void that can never be filled. He was generous with his friendship, always willing to go the extra mile to make those around him feel loved and appreciated.
Beyond his vibrant social life, Jason was preceded in death by his father, Rupert Miles Steward and was a dedicated son to Beatriz Steward and brother to his sister, Eileen Carmen Grose (Tom Grose), and a proud uncle to his nephews, Benjamin Christopher Grose and Cameron Troy Grose. His family meant the world to him, and he cherished every moment spent in their company.
Jason's passing leaves a profound sense of loss in the hearts of all who knew him. Yet, as they mourn his absence, they also celebrate the indelible mark he left on their lives. His spirit will live on in the countless memories shared and the lives he touched along the way. Jason's presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he may no longer walk among us, his spirit will continue to guide and inspire us in the days ahead.
Jason Miles Steward will forever be remembered for his infectious laughter, his boundless generosity, and his unwavering friendship. May he rest in peace, knowing that he was loved beyond measure and that his legacy will endure for years to come.
Jason will be interred at Fort Sam Houston National cemetery on April 12, 2024 at 9:30 am.
The family would like to thank all of his friends that reached out and visited him in his last days. A very special thank you to Tim Salas, his best friend of nearly 40 years, who spent countless hours with us at his bedside. You will always be special to us.
