Obituary

Javier "El Gallo" Gutierrez passed away in his home on Saturday, April 26th, 2025, surrounded by the caring love of his family. He was 67 years old. Javier was born in Piedras Negras, Mexico on July 24th, 1957 and came to Eagle Pass, Texas and eventually San Antonio to provide and raise his family.

Javier worked hard as a laborer in many trades over the years. He had a love of sports, which he passed down to his children who will continue to gather together not just to watch their favorite teams but to spend time doing what is most important - sharing the love for each other, family gatherings and lots of joking around. One of his family's most treasured memories is all the stories and laughter they shared and watching him enjoy time with his many grandchildren and, more recently, great-grandchildren.  "El Gallo" was perfectly imperfect and believed in living life to the fullest, including taking his beloved dog Chula on rides/walks in his wheelchair. He was well known by many as "El Gallo", He will be missed tremendously.

Javier is preceded in death by his parents, Vicente and Consuelo Gutierrez Ramirez, older sisters Oralia Hernandez Gutierrez and Rosario Cortinas Gutierrez.

Javier will be remembered lovingly by his wife of 20+ years Maria (Valdez) Gutierrez as well as his 5 children; Javier Gutierrez Jr. (Heather), Geronimo Gutierrez, Miguel Gutierrez (Melissa), Erik Gutierrez, and Carmen Gutierrez-Olmos (Steven); numerous grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; older sister Petra Gutierrez Ramirez, older brother Vicente Gutierrez Ramirez (Juana), and many other extended family members and friends.
