Obituary

In Loving Memory of Jerry Romero
November 7, 1964 – May 17, 2025

With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of Jerry Romero, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who left this world on May 17, 2025, at the age of 60. A man of quiet strength and boundless generosity, Jerry lived a life defined by his unwavering dedication to others, always putting family, friends, and community before himself.

Born on November 7, 1964, Jerry grew up with a deep sense of responsibility and a heart full of love. He was the kind of man who would lend a hand without being asked, who found joy in the happiness of those around him, and who believed in the dignity of hard work. Whether he was behind a barbecue grill, under the hood of a car, or tending to his garden, Jerry brought passion, care, and skill to everything he did.

Jerry had a deep love for the simple pleasures of life. He found peace casting a line along the shores of Rockport, Texas, where fishing was not just a hobby but a moment to bond with his loved ones. He loved spending time with his brothers and sons building race cars, transforming metal and grease into lasting memories. Sunday cookouts, laughter around the table, and a yard in full bloom were just a few of the things that brought him joy.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Henry Romero Sr. and Irma Romero, his beloved brothers Henry Romero Jr. and Larry Romero, and his nephews Benjamin Alvarez and Hector Rios. Their memories lived in his heart always.

Jerry leaves behind a legacy of love in those who survive him: his sisters Petra Fernandez, Yolanda Alvarez, and Sylvia Rios; his children Sharon Cervantes, Stephanie Sambrano, Jerry Romero Jr., Jesse Romero, and John Michael Romero; and his grandchildren Destiny, Loreali, Jose, Rowen, Cassie, Tristan, Jessiemai, Eliana, Patricia, Amelia, John Michael Jr., and Cataleya. He is also survived by his loving ex-wife, Margaret Romero, and his cherished partner, Diana Martinez—each of whom held a special place in his heart.

To know Jerry was to know kindness, resilience, and humility. His hands built more than just cars and mended more than just garden—they built lives, mended hearts, and held tight to the ones he loved. His laughter, smile, and generous spirit will echo through the generations he helped raise.

Though he has departed from this life, Jerry Romero's legacy of love, loyalty, and family will never be forgotten. We will carry him with us in every sunrise over the coast, in every blooming garden, in every shared meal, and every engine revving to life.

Rest peacefully, Jerry. You were deeply loved and will be forever missed.
