Jesse P.
Ayala Jr.
February 16, 1943 – August 6, 2025
In Loving Memory of
Jesse P. Ayala, Jr.
February 16, 1943 – August 6, 2025
Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, veteran, athlete, coach, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Becky, and grandson, Drew. He is survived by daughters, Yvonne (David), Yvette (Jerry), and Monette (Enrique); grandchildren, Jesse, Paige, Audelia, Suzanna, Enrique, Celine, Zoe, Timoteo; and sister, Della.
Born with a passion for service and sport, Jesse proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis. His dedication to duty and love for his country were values he carried throughout his life. An exceptional athlete, he excelled in both basketball and baseball in his youth. His love for the game never faded, as he went on to coach his daughters—two of whom went on to compete in Junior Olympic fast-pitch softball, and the third continued her athletic journey as a collegiate cheerleader. He was immensely proud of their accomplishments and cherished the time he spent on the field as their coach, mentor, and biggest fan.
In his later years, he continued his athletic journey as a proud member of the San Antonio Seniors Softball League competing in many age brackets and being recruited for teams below his age bracket. He participated many years in the Senior Softball World Series Championship and was selected as the MVP, proving that age was never a barrier to passion or performance.
Jesse, also loved to travel and never missed a chance to try his luck at the casinos. Whether exploring new places or enjoying time at home, he lived a full and active life with a smile.
Committed to his community, he served as a mediator, member of the Fiesta Flambeau Parade, and worked election polls with pride, helping ensure every voice was heard. Above all, Jesse was a family man. He was proud of his daughters and grandchildren and loved his family and relatives deeply. His legacy of service, strength, and love will live on in each of them.
Education was a non-negotiable priority for Jesse. He believed deeply in its power to open doors and insisted that his daughters pursue it with dedication, no matter the cost. He led by example, instilling a strong work ethic and sense of responsibility that lives on through them.
Being proud of having over 36 years of sobriety, he will be remembered for his loyalty, humor, and unwavering dedication to the people and values he held dear.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the family, friends, and hospice care team for their compassion and support during Jesse's final days.
In lieu of flowers, consider sending donations to an Alcoholic/Drug Addiction Recovery Charity.
