Jesse 'Jay'
Gonzales Jr.
July 24, 1971 – January 9, 2022
Jesse "Jay" Gonzales Jr passed away on January 9, 2022, at the age of 50.
Jay is preceded in death by his father, Jesse Gonzales Sr., his paternal grandparents, Ramona Gutirrez and Alejandro Gonzales, and his maternal grandparents, Domencio Flores and Elisa Flores.
He is survived by his spouse of thirty years, Elaine Gonzales, his mother Anavelia Gonzales, his children Brandon Perez (Kassandra De Hoyos) and Nathan Gonzales (Valerie Rodriguez-Gonzales), his grandchildren, Madison Gonzales, Brayden Perez, and Katalyna Perez, his siblings, Michael Gonzales (Melinda), Frankie Rodriguez (Rosa), Cindy Medina (Paul), Patsy Martinez (Ernesto Rodriguez), and Sandra Cortez, in addition to numerous extended family and friends.
Jay was born on July 24, 1971, in San Antonio, Texas. He accomplished so many incredible things in life but was especially proud of his family that he loved so much. His capacity for generosity knew no bounds as he was someone who would help anyone he could without giving it a second thought. He inspired those around him to be a better person. Jesse served the lord his whole life and made it a priority to serve God to the fullest. He showed those around him how strong his faith was by his actions and integrity, never one to be ashamed of the gospel of Christ. Jay always said, it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth. He would say, do not sorrow for me be of good cheer, I have finished the race. I am with the lord so pick up the book of faith for it always brought comfort when I read the book of the Lord. For the word of God lives in us. Jay loved his family, spending time with his grandchildren and boys was important to him and he especially loved the memories made together with them. Jay brought immense joy to those around him. We loved his caring ways, and he will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
Words cannot express the feeling in our hearts. Thank you for your prayers and support during this difficult time. Your shared memories, comforting condolences and gestures of love are truly appreciated.
