Jesus " Jesse" Hernandez Rico was called home to the Lord on October 18, 2020, at the age of 76. He was born in San Antonio, Tx, on November 23, 1943. He was raised and spent his time roaming the west side of San Antonio. He met and married Virginia Alvarado and together they had two sons, Robert & Joe. They remained married for nearly 51 years until his passing. Jesse enjoyed listening and dancing to all types of music, merengue being his favorite to spin around the room to & Tejano being what he would listen to as he would kick back by the washer scratching his lottery tickets. Mr. Rico retired after 20 years of employment with the City of San Antonio, where he helped beautify our city by working at the Spanish Governor's Palace, a historical landmark. He would often enjoy taking his breaks at Los Apaches Restaurante. He had a huge heart for animals, often taking in kittens and making them his own. And an even bigger heart for his dog, Chico Rico. He is preceded in death by his son Robert Javier Rico; his parents; brothers Manuel and Salvador Jr Rico. He is loved and will be missed by his wife Virginia Alvarado Rico; son Joe J Rico (Angela); grandchildren Brittney Rico and Joseph Isaiah; great-grandchildren Abel Viana-Rico Jr and Anuel Roberto Viana-Rico; sister Maria Ebaben; his best friend Joe Chavez and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
