Jesus "Jesse" Rangel Jr., of Lytle, Tx, passed away on May 10, 2022, at the age of 53.

Jesus was born on October 16, 1968, in Pearsall, Tx. He graduated from Lytle High School in 1987. He went on to work at Color Spot Nursery and enjoyed talking about the various plants he encountered and how to care for them. He then spent several years working for Southwest ISD, where he assisted in extracurricular activities whenever he could.

Jesus was a lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys and was rarely seen without the Cowboys' star somewhere on his clothing. He helped coach his children throughout their youth in various sports and later in his life would enjoy watching his grandchildren playing baseball or football. He was a hard worker who enjoyed being outdoors working whenever possible and was always available to help family and friends when they needed him.

Jesus liked watching Star Trek throughout his life. He also enjoyed watching anything sci-fi or fantasy including Game of Thrones, Lord of the rings, Marvel, and Batman. Some of his favorite music includes Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, and Christian and Tejano music.

Jesus was predeceased by his father, Jesus Rangel Sr. Left to cherish his memory are his mother Maria S. Rangel, three siblings, Molly Rangel, Marcos Rangel, and Terry Rangel, his wife, MaryLou Rangel, three children, daughter Vanessa Holland and her husband Lawrence Holland and their children, Lorenzo Moralez and Michael Moralez, son Jesus Rangel III and his girlfriend Sarah, son Joshua Rangel and his girlfriend Ashley, and many close friends.

Visitation will be Friday May 20, 2022, from 3:30PM to 8:00 PM at Castillo Funeral Home in San Antonio, Tx with a prayer service to follow at 6:00PM.
