Jesus F.
Renteria
September 29, 1939 – April 23, 2023
Jesus F. Renteria passed away on April 23, 2023 at the age of 83. Jesus was born in Laredo MX on September 29, 1939.
In his youth, Jesus was a talented baseball player who earned the nick name "Arm of Gold or "Brazo de Oro" due to his impressive pitching abilities. At the age of 19, Jesus married Manuela Renteria spending the next 64 years together. He continued his love and support for baseball often wearing his favorite team gear for the Texas Rangers and Houston Astros. Aside from his love for baseball, Jesus enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. After his children moved out, he often made random visits to his children's homes that lived nearest to him and treated them to breakfast, lunch, or dinner to eat his favorite food. If it wasn't Mexican food, it was Chinese food or wings, or "alitas" as he like to call them. His generosity extended to his grandchildren who always knew they could count on grandpa sharing his stash of snacks when they came over to visit. He valued traveling to visit his extended family in Houston, Laredo and to watch the Rangers and Astro games. For the last 15 years, he was a member of his church, Templo Casa de Oracion where he occasionally volunteered his carpentry skills and his unsolicited opinions on others work.
Jesus was an extremely hard worker and loyal employee at Manco where he spent over 40 years working to provide for his family. His strong work ethic made him stand out from the rest. He will be missed by many.
Jesus is survived by his wife Manuela Renteria and children, Federico (Gloria) Cardenas, Maria (Frank) Romero, Cruz Armando (Lisa) Renteria, Jesus Renteria and Teresa Hinojosa, Irma (Jose) Hernandez, Joe (Suzy) Renteria, and Rodolfo S. Renteria.
He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Juan F. Renteria, Ramon Renteria, Consuelo Renteria Flores, Santa Renteria, and Marcela Duenas.
Jesus is preceded in death by his parents, Jesus Renteria and Victoria Flores and his siblings Jose Renteria Flores, San Juana Renteria Montemayor, Lupe Renteria, Olivia Renteria Garcia and grandson Jesus Emilio Hinojosa Renteria.
