Jesus Maria Rodriguez Jr., born on November 25, 1945, in Crystal City, Texas, passed away on May 21, 2024, at the age of 78.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesus M. Rodriguez Sr & Roman Felan Rodriguez; sister, Mary Gloria Villarreal; brothers, Eugenio F. Rodriguez, Matias F. Rodriguez, Gregorio F. Rodriguez: niece, Mary Lou Villarreal, nephews, John Anthony Villarreal, Robert D. Rodriguez and Son-in-law, Richard Larry Albury and numerous in-laws.
He is survived by his wife Mary Rodriguez, daughters Jessica Landrum (Michael), Seferina Albury, Libertad Felan, Rosie Hernandez (Gina), Sally Ann Henderson (Federica Yarbrough), Stephanie Felan, son, Fabian Felan, John Gerald Henderson; Brothers, Robert F. Rodriguez (Gloria), Armando F. Rodriguez; Grandchildren, Kaylee, Casidee, Jasmine, Willis, Jesse, Elizabeth, Valerie, Robert, Sabrina, Antwane, Alvin, Lacie, Christina, Jeramie, Christopher, Richard, Marissa, Johnpaul, Gabriella, Eddie Albert, David, Michael, Anthony, Fabian Jr., Jacob, Gina and Nikki, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren. Jesus is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Jesus (Jesse) was a proud Vietnam veteran. He loved his family. He enjoyed family gatherings. He loved to go out to eat at Pete's Tako House. He enjoyed his trades of mechanic, painter and gardener. He enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys, San Antonio Spurs, Family Feud, Bonanza, The Rifleman, Mash, Hogan's Heroes and military movies.
His family extends gratitude to the Audie L. Murphy Memorial Veterans' Hospital physicians and staff that provided him the best possible care every time he was there, from the Emergency Room to In-patient care, to routine Follow-up visits. Also, to the Metropolitan Methodist Hospital on McCollough.
A visitation for Jesus will be Wednesday, May 29, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Castillo Mission Funeral Home, 520 N. General McMullen, San Antonio, TX 78228 with a Rosary being recited at 6:00 PM. A Mass of the Resurrection will occur Thursday, May 30, 2024, at 9:30 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 535 New Laredo Hwy, San Antonio, TX 78211 with interment with Military Honors to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd., San Antonio, TX 78209.
