Jesus Maria
Valderas Sr.
June 2, 1939 – May 4, 2022
Jesus "Jesse" Maria Valderas, Sr. 82, was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was called by the Lord on May 4th, 2022. Jesse was married to Juanita "Janie" Valderas for 57 years. Jesse was the loving father of five children. Jesus M. Valderas, Jr, Diana (Adrian) Valderas, Edward (Erlinda) Valderas, Carlos (Adriana) Valderas, and Linda (Danny) Garza. He was the grandfather of 16 grandchildren. Jesse was a proud US Army Veteran.
After serving honorably in the Army from 1961 to 1964, he planted his roots in San Antonio. He was a truck driver for 42 years supporting the family. He spent many weekends hunting and fishing with his sons, barbequing, and spending quality time with his family. Jesse appreciated a good joke and loved telling stories to anyone that would listen.
Jesse enjoyed going to the movie theatre with Janie. After retiring, Jesse took to tending his garden with fruit trees and vegetables, always keeping busy. Jesse never hesitated to tell his family that he loved them, till the very end. Jesse is preceded in death by his father, Jose, and mother, Maria Refugia Valderas, and his siblings Esther Calva, Joe Valderas, Johnny Valderas, and Armando Valderas.
Special thanks to Ruby Herrera, who served as a loving caregiver for Jesse, and to the Grandview Senior Living facility for providing a warm and caring environment. We are grateful for your compassion and kindness.
