Obituary

Jim Leal Jr,  age 83, went to be with the Lord February 9, 2021. He was born June 25, 1937, to Jim and Concepcion Leal in San Antonio, Texas.

A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a patriot who loved his country. He was a donor heart recipient who took full advantantage of a second chance at life. He loved to dance and enjoyed live mariachi music. He celebrated his birthday and the anniversary of his heart transplant each year surrounded by friends and family.

His charisma made him well-loved as a favorite uncle and popular friend. He will long be remembered and missed. He is survived by his sister Dora Uriegas, daughters Yvonne Leal-Celaya and Brenda Lee Leal, grandson Christian Jeremy Casillas and granddaughter Amber Nicole Casillas. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Gloria Aguilar and Olga Sutherland and granddaughter Penelope Ryann Celaya.

The family would like to thank the staff at Fort Sam Houston National Cementary and members of the United States Armed Forces for their service in defense of our country.
