Jimmy De
Hoyos
February 26, 1974 – February 9, 2022
Jimmy De Hoyos entered eternal rest on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at the age of 47. He was born on February 26, 1974, in San Antonio, Texas.
He enjoyed life to the fullest and had a positive outlook on life. He had a one-of-a-kind personality and a contagious smile. He had friends in high and low places and did not discriminate, he befriended anyone he came across in his walk with life. He was a huge San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Cowboys fan and loved going on the Cowboy bus tour trips. He loved to attend music concerts and always managed to get the best seats on the stage for his family and friends. He enjoyed going to the movies, Monster Jam Truck Shows, Fiesta NIOSA and Parades, La Margarita at the Market Square, Paradise Canyon River, Corpus Christi Bay and going on family trips to beautiful beaches in Mexico. He was the life of any party or dinner he attended. He always had everyone in tears of laugher with his antics. Jimmy lived for the love of his life and only daughter, Nadia Nicole De Hoyos. Everyone knew that she was Daddy's girl. She was an inspiration and ray of hope for Jimmy and the reason for working so hard in life to provide for her. He taught his daughter the gifts of love, sharing, caring, forgiveness and courage.
Jimmy made plentiful friends with many co-workers throughout his career which included more than a decade stint of working for HEB Central Market in the Produce Department. He took pride in his job and enjoyed talking to all his weekly returning customers that he knew by name. He met many famous people that would shop at this HEB location. He loved Bar-B-Q and sea food especially the HEB Meat-Market King Crab Legs and Steaks. These food items were a common dinner dish that he prepared often for his family. After his HEB employment, Jimmy worked for A-Ram Plumbing company where he was given an opportunity to be trained and educated in the plumbing field. He was enrolled and graduated from the Plumbing Heating Cooling Contractors Apprenticeship program at St. Phillips College in 2017. He cherished the friendships that were created with his classmates. He developed a strong passion to work in the plumbing field like his late brother, "Baby Roy +", and he was very proud of this accomplishment as were we. Jimmy received many compliments on his great customer service and professionalism skills while employed for A-Ram Plumbing. He took pride in his plumbing-trade profession and delivering plumbing services for many people in San Antonio and abroad.
Jimmy was a loving, caring, and compassionate father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to so many. He is preceded in death by: his brother "Baby Roy" De Hoyos; maternal grandparents Arturo and Guadalupe Salas; paternal grandparents Santiago and Dolores De Hoyos; his niece Miranda Molina; his nephew Michael Molina; his niece Madison Ramirez; his niece Malery Martinez and the family chihuahua dogs Mickey and Minnie. We know all the faithful departed souls and many other relatives and friends will be waiting to receive Jimmy at the Gates of Heaven.
Jimmy is survived by: his daughter Nadia Nicole De Hoyos; his parents Roy and Margaret De Hoyos; his siblings Manuel Molina (Monica), Dolly Davis (Mark), Patricia Ramirez (Albert) and Michelle Gomez; his Godson and Nephew Andrew Gomez and numerous Nieces and Nephews who loved their "Uncle Jimbo"; and last but not least his pride and joy, his bully dog, Blaze.
The De Hoyos family would like to thank you for condolences, prayers, and thoughts during this family tragedy and great loss. We find comfort knowing that Jimmy entrusted his life to God and had faith in the plans that God set forth for him. If you knew Jimmy, he did not worry about anything, instead, he knew how to "Let Go and Let God". Jimmy will be deeply missed but his lively spirit, love and memories will endure in our hearts forever.
