Jimmy Q. Montez, Jr.

A loving husband, devoted father and grandfather, Jimmy Quinones Montez, Sr. was called home by the Lord on August 8, 2022, at the age of 89.

Jimmy always had a love for cars which only increased while working at Cavender Cadillac.  He took that passion and opened Jim's Upholstery, where he shared his knowledge with family members.  Chances are you probably have a piece of furniture, car repair, bus seat or have sat in restaurant seat he upholstered. His attention to detail was not only visible in his work; but during a game of dominoes, beware he was quick.

Jimmy is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Belia Barrientos Montez; parents, Jesus and Eduviges Quinones; and probably his most beloved friend, Lexi (his black Labrador).  He is loved and will be greatly missed by sons, Jimmy Montez Jr. (Lorena) and Roger Montez; daughters, Rosalinda Morales (Juan Domingo) and Leticia Montez; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and loving friends. Visitation will be held at Castillo Funeral Home from 4 pm. until 8 pm. on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, with a Rosary to be recited at 6 pm. The funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 9:15 am. on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 for a 10 am. Mass of Christian Burial at St. James Catholic Church, 907 W. Theo Avenue. Interment will follow at San Fernando Archdiocesan Cemetery II. Services under the direction of Castillo Funeral Home.
