Joe G. Noriega's Obituary

Joe G. Noriega, born on September 14, 1952, in San Antonio, Texas. At age of 69, he went to be with the Lord on June 13, 2022. He is survived by his wife Rosa Maria Noriega of 44 years of marriage, his son's, Jose Raul, Javier Jose, John Joseph, daughter Jessica Rose and grandson Javier Jose Jr., mother-in-law Lucia Gonzalez, brothers -in-law Juan Gonzalez Jr. and Hector Gonzalez(Antoinette).

Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Jesus M. Noriega and Paula G. Noriega, sisters, Pauline G. Noriega, Josephine N. Martinez and Rosie Medrano, brothers, Jesse, John, Joel, Frank, Eliseo, Michael and brother-in-law, Raul B. Medrano. He is survived by his sister, Gloria Noriega(Rudy Alvarado), brothers, Arthur(Dolores) and Jerry Noriega, numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and neighbors.

Joe was a 1971 graduate and band member of Thomas Jefferson High School.

Joe drove for 35 years with Via Metropolitan Transit and 5 years with San Antonio Independent School District. Joe was an avid athlete. He played with the Noriega Brothers Softball Team, Los Primos Softball Team, Via's Softball Team, and The Noriega Brothers Basketball Team.

Joe also loved all sports. He enjoyed watching the Texas Longhorns, San Antonio Spurs, Dallas Cowboys and the New York Yankees as well he loved to go fishing. He also performed with several Mariachi groups by playing the trumpet.

The family would like to thank the staff of Remington Transitional Care of San Antonio, Warm Springs Rehabilitation Hospital, Christus Santa Rosa Hospital Westover Hills, Dr. Muralidhar Beeram, Dr. Keith Eyre, Dr. Wayne Lee, Dr. Deowall Chattar-Cora, Start Center and Vita's Hospice.
