Joe Salas went to be with the Lord on July 11, 2022, at the age of 95.
Joe was born on January 24, 1927, in San Antonio Texas to the late Cipriano Salas and Consuelo Salas. Joe and his late wife Delfina O. Salas were married sixty-two years before her passing. They leave behind children, Delfina, Joe, Linda, Mike, and Eddie who will carry on the memory of their father and the legacy he leaves behind. He was an incredibly hard-working man. During the 80's and 90's he served on numerous bank boards. He was a go getter who was self-employed and very knowledgeable with automobiles. He successfully owned and operated Apache Auto Parts and Auto World before moving on to other endeavors in life. Joe enjoyed the simple pleasures of life but especially spending time at his ranch where he was intrigued by the oil wells on his property in Bexar County, He inspired those around him to be better individuals. His capacity for generosity knew no bounds. He was someone who would help anyone in need with support, encouragement, and guidance. He will be missed tremendously.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years Delfina O. Salas, parents, Cipriano and Consuelo Salas and brother Manuel Salas.
He is survived by his children, Delfina Vallejo, (David), Joe Salas Jr. (Belinda), Linda Garcia (Steven), Mike Salas (Clara), and Eddie Salas (Lorraine). Sisters, Rosa Guana, Consuelo Gonzales, Maria Garza, Lile Salas. 18 grandchildren's, 20 Great-grandchildren 1 great great-grandchildren in addition to numerous, nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday July 17 2022, at Castillo Funeral Home from 3:30 pm to 8:00 pm with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 6:00 pm., the following day there will be a holy mass at 10:00am Saint James Catholic Church, interment at San Fernando Cemetery 2
