Obituary

Joe Villarreal left his earthly home for heaven after a long battle with cancer. He was 62 years old. Joe was born February 2, 1961, in San Antonio to Juan Villarreal and Eloida Martinez. He married his wife Norma on July 21, 1979.

Joe was a hunter and fisherman with a passion for the outdoors and wildlife. Joe was often referred to as "Ol' Buck" by his closest friends. He enjoyed boating, fishing with friends, and playing cards with his grandchildren.

Mr. Villarreal is survived by his wife of 44 years, Norma; son, Billy (Maricela); daughter, Kelly (Alexander); five grandchildren: Billy Villarreal Jr. (Leticia), Ryan Alexander, Noah Alexander, Kylie Elena and Kaleb Cruz Ramirez.  His sisters: Christine Mermea (Manuel); Celia Apolinar (Francisco); Alice Garcia (Frank); Dora Tejada; and brother; Ricardo Villarreal (Irma). Joe was preceded in passing by his parents: Father: Johnny Villarreal; Mother: Elodia Villarreal; Sister: Dolores Mejia; and Brother: Alberto Villarreal.

A celebration of Joe's life will be at Castillo Funeral Home on Friday, August 25, 2023. The viewing will be from 2:30 p.m. – 5:30 pm with the rosary following shortly after.

Joe's family would like to thank his friends and neighbors for their friendship with Joe and their support in his care over the years.
