Joel B. Cuevas went to be with our Lord on March 5, 2022.

He is survived by his children Joel M. Cuevas, Nina J. Silva, Adam G. Cuevas, and Nathan T. Cuevas.

Joel was born on August 5, 1956, in San Antonio, Texas to the late Amelia and Joel S. Cuevas, Sr. He accomplished many things in life. After high school Joel served in the United States Marine Corps from 1974-1978. He was attached to 3rd, Bn, 5th Mar, 1st Marine Division at Camp Pendleton, CA. Joel will be remembered for his amazing cooking, his love for trying new recipes and his ultimate BBQing. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of nature, camping and being at the river.  In his younger years, he enjoyed spending time deer hunting and deep sea fishing. Always ready for a good time, Joel enjoyed spending time traveling any new place he could visit.

His capacity for generosity knew no bounds as he was someone who would help anyone in need. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

A visitation will be held at Castillo Funeral Home on Thursday, March 31, 2022, from 11:00 to 1:00 pm . Family and friends will meet at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on Friday, April 1, 2022 , under shelter two at 9:15 am for interment with full military honors.
