John Dennis Cowan passed away peacefully on February 9, 2021 surrounded by the warmth and love of his family. John served proudly in the United States Air Force and was a 10 year Veteran during the Vietnam War. He graduated from Rockhurst University of Kansas City, MO with a degree in Finance. John joins his parents, Vincent and Mary Louise Cowan in Heaven. He leaves his loving wife, Maria, brothers Pat (Jo Ann) and Robert; daughters Amanda Murphy (Pat) and Pamela Ortiz (Myra); son Jeffrey Ortiz and three grandchildren, Abby, Eric Jr and Emarie Ortiz. John shared an amazing and loving Christian life with his wife Maria. They were two hearts, one love, two promises, one covenant, two lives made one in Christ and walked together through all things. He loved his conversations with Amanda, baseball coaching with Pamela, music trivia with Jeffrey, sharing game stats with his grandson and playing board games and collecting bugs with the granddaughters. He had a special love for cookies and golf.
