Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of John J. Duran Jr. He was 48 years old. He was born in San Antonio, TX on September 9, 1977. He passed away surrounded by the warmth and love of his family on September 20, 2025. His tough battle with cancer is over.

John (JoJo) as we called him, loved fishing and enjoyed spending time with his family and barbecuing. He was a big jokester. His life could be encapsulated by a few "F" words; Family, Friends, Food and being Funny. JoJo loved the San Antonio Spurs and the Dallas Cowboys. He graduated from John Jay High School in 1996 and later attended Palo Alto College. His children Dominick and Cheyenne brought him the most joy and accomplishment in life.

John (JoJo) is preceded in death by both paternal and maternal grandparents along with Jerold Duran (Brother) and Marissa Duran (Sister).
John (JoJo) is loved and will be missed by his parents John J. Duran Sr. (Father) and Marianela S. Duran (Mother) along with Jennifer Castano (Wife),Dominick Duran (Son), Cheyenne Duran (Daughter), Yvonne Duran (Sister) and his 7 Nephews and Nieces and 10 great Nephews and Nieces along with many more whose life he touched.
