Lombrano
September 5, 1947 – January 3, 2023
John A. Lombrano was called Home into the Lord's arms on January 3, 2023 at the age of 75. John was born on September 5, 1947 in San Antonio, Texas to the late John G. and Audelia Lombrano. He was an avid lover of baseball and football; he played football at Irving Middle School and then at Fox Technical High School. John enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1966. He proudly served over 20 years in the United States Air Force and was a decorated Vietnam Veteran. He was a former Post Commander of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), as well as a member of American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), and a member of the Knights of Columbus. His passion was to assist Veterans in receiving the benefits that they appropriately deserve.
John was extremely proud of his grandchildren and great grand grandchildren. He was the best father and the best husband. He was a role model for all and will be missed by everyone who knew him. John is reunited in Heaven with his parents; siblings Patrick L. Lombrano, Mary Alice Daugherty; and first wife Maria P. (Patsy) Lombrano. John leaves his legacy in the hearts and actions of his beloved wife of 20 years Linda Ann Lombrano; son John A. Lombrano Jr.(Shelley), daughter Sandra Marie Rodriguez (Ralph Edward); sons Chistopher Lombrano and Jared Lombrano; and daughter Sarah Heil (Britton); 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brother Robert Lombrano, sisters Barbara Ann Alvarado (Sam), Norma G. Morales, and Elsa Mieth (David).
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at Castillo Funeral Home from 3:30pm until 8:00pm with The Holy Rosary at 6:00pm. On Wednesday, January 25, 2023, family and friends will meet at Castillo Funeral Home to drive in procession to St. Ann's Catholic Church for mass at 10am. Burial to follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
You are invited to a reception close by at the VFW Post 8541 on 2222 Austin HWY following his Military Funeral Honors at Fort Sam National Cemetery.
