John Patrick Turnbull passed away peacefully on March 23, 2021 in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 88.  He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 44 years, Margaret Turnbull, who passed away in 2006.

John was born and raised in the Bronx, NY and attended St. Thomas Aquinas High School. He served in the National Guard and went on to graduate from Saint Mary's College in Louisville, KY with a degree in Accounting.  After marrying the love of his life, Margaret Wilson in 1962, he settled in Randolph, NJ to raise their family.  He became a very, active member of the community. Known for his quick wit, big heart and devotion to the Catholic Church, he served on various boards and committees for the Randolph Rotary, Kiwanis Club, Chamber of Commerce, and the Randolph Planning Board.  He taught CCD classes at Sacred Heart Church in Dover, NJ and later became a Lector at Resurrection Parish in Randolph, NJ.  He remained a devoted supporter of the Franciscan Mission Associates in Mt. Vernon, NY until his death.

He is lovingly remembered by his daughters Lynn Turnbull-Schalago, Randolph, NJ, and Joann Turnbull with whom he resided with, in San Antonio, Texas. He is also survived by his sister, Eileen Lally, son-in-law, John Schalago, and his beautiful grandchildren, Kaitlin, Stephanie    Elizabeth, Toby, and Brianna - all of whom he considered to be the apples of his eye. He also leaves behind sister-in-law, Kathleen Faughnan, brother-in-law, John Wilson and sister-in-law, Barbara Wilson, as well as 15 nieces and nephews.

A private internment and Mass will be held at a future date at Assumption Parish Morristown, NJ.  Memorial Contributions can be made to the Franciscan Mission Associates, Mt. Vernon, NY.
