Johnny Lopez
Bidaliz
March 29, 1931 – May 21, 2022
Johnny Lopez Bidaliz went to be with our Lord on May 21, 2022, at the age of 91.
Johnny was born on March 29, 1931, in Somerset Texas to the late Ruben and Manuela Lopez Bidaliz. He and Dora made an official commitment on March 4, 1952, and together shared a 70-year adventure and marriage together. Johnny worked for the City of San Antonio for over 31 years before retiring. He enjoyed football games especially when his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys were playing. He played dominoes for many years with friends and family. He enjoyed getting in the car and taking long rides around San Antonio and surrounding towns. He played an enormous role in the lives of his children and grandchildren who were the pride and joy of his life.
He inspired those around him to be better individuals. His capacity for generosity knew no bounds. He was someone who would help anyone in need with support, encouragement, and guidance. Johnny loved when family and friends got together. Those times exist in our memories and will be cherished forever. We loved his caring ways, he will be deeply missed, and his memory will live on.
There are no words that can express the feelings in our hearts. Thank you for your prayers and support during this difficult time. Your shared memories, comforting condolences and gestures of love are truly appreciated.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Maria Del Carmen Cervantes; parents, Ruben and Manuela Bidaliz; and sisters, Mary Mata and Virginia Uriegas.
He is survived by his wife, Dora R. Bidaliz; children, Rosemary Fernandez, Margie Escamilla, Teresa Wescott, Maryjane Perez, Cynthia Quiroz, Joann Campos, and Edward Perez Jr.; fourteen grandchildren, forty great-grandchildren, and 17 great great-grandchildren.
