Obituary

Jose Alejandro Sanchez

January 11, 1930 – August 5, 2026

Jose Alejandro Sanchez, 96, passed away on August 5, 2026, leaving behind a life built through determination, resourcefulness, and his own two hands. Jose experienced hardship from an early age, losing his mother while still young and growing up without truly knowing his father. Those beginnings helped shape a man who learned to make do with what he had and find his own way forward.A carpenter, contractor, and painter by trade, building was perhaps Jose's greatest gift. He didn't always have the perfect materials or the right tool, but that rarely stopped him. If something needed to be built or repaired, he found a way. Together with his family, Jose helped build the homes of his children—places where his family grew, gathered, and made memories. His hands helped build the very lives his family has today.Jose was also a man with much on his mind. Though often a man of few words when it came to expressing himself, he wrote constantly, sometimes late into the night. He filled pages with his thoughts, reflections, and Scripture. He also enjoyed creating and decorating the spaces around him, often placing Bible verses and other personal touches throughout his home and surroundings.Jose shared his life with his wife, Juventina Sanchez, and is survived by his children, Rosa Maria Sanchez, Nereida Sanchez, Joe Alex Sanchez, Jose Martin Sanchez, and Blanca Howard; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.His family will remember a man who could take what he had and make something from it. The houses he helped build still stand, the words he wrote remain, and the generations that came after him carry forward a life that began 96 years ago. Long after his hands have grown still, what he built with them remains.
