July 17, 1950 – October 2, 2023
Jose F. Chairez, husband to Maria Del Carmen Chairez, went to be with the Lord on October 2, 2023, at his residence in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on July 17, 1950, in Mexico, a son of the late Amparo and Jose Chairez.
Prior to his retirement he was employed with, Deluxe Bakery, Pan American Restaurant, La Superior Bakery, Handy Andy Warehouse and was with HEB #21 Bakery Department for 34 years. He was a friend and joy to all who knew him during those years. Jose loved a great gathering and family vacations were special times to him. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping at the state parks of Port Aransas, Texas, Corpus Christi, Texas, and Garner State Park.
His passing is a great loss to his wife, children, grandchildren, siblings and relatives. They will all miss him dearly. Jose was a remarkable man. He was incredibly kind, funny, generous, he gave excellent advice, told the best stories, and was a true hero and an amazing man. We are all saddened and devastated by his unexpected passing. Words can't describe how much we'll miss him.
Family members include his wife, Maria Del Carmen Chairez; children, Jose Alejandro Chairez (Veronica Chairez), Claudia Patricia Menchaca (Hazael Menchaca), Jesus Alberto Chairez (Gloria Bautista) and Cristina Espinoza; grandchildren, Carlos Nathaniel Chairez, Matthew Alejandro Chairez, Sofia Camila Espinoza, Celina Chairez, Celeste Chairez and Camilo Andres Espinoza; siblings, Maria Del Refugio, Mike Chairez, Arturo Chairez and Antonio Reyes Chaires; in addition to numerous extended family and friends.
A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered.
The family will receive guests at Castillo Funeral Home on October 15, 2023, for visitation from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a prayer service beginning at 6:00 pm.
A Chapel Service at Castillo Funeral Home will be conducted on October 16, 2023, at 9:30 am. Burial will follow with a graveside service at San Fernando Cemetery 3.
