Jose G. Castillo was called Home into the Lord's arms on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at the blessed age of 80 years. Jose was born in San Antonio, Texas, to Geronimo and Fidela Castillo on November 23, 1943.

Jose was a hardworking man and a wonderful husband. He always put his family first and enjoyed spending quality time at home. He enjoyed landscaping and making sure his yard was perfect. When he wasn't tending to his yard Jose loved to watch the Dallas Cowboys with his favorite Chihuahua (out of 12) Mario. Above all, he was a man of faith and family and will be dearly missed by those who knew him.

Jose is reunited in Heaven with his parents Geronimo and Fidela Castillo; son Dimas Garcia; nephew Robert Valdez; sisters Dolores Garcia and Guadalupe Valdez; and brothers Jerry Castillo Jr. and Simon Castillo. Jose is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Maria B. Espinoza; son Joe Castillo Jr.; daughter Jennifer Canales; his bonus kids Rosalinda Barron, Mary Helen Caudillo, Monica Garcia, David Contreras, and Johnny Garcia; sister Julia Zuniga; 6 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Visitation to take place on Thursday, August 29, 2024, from 4:00 pm until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary to begin at 6:00 p.m. Family and friends will meet on Friday, August 30, 2024, at St. Jude Catholic Church, 130 S. San Augustine Ave., San Antonio, Texas, 78237 for a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Services to conclude after mass.
