Jose Andres Gauna Jr. went to be with our Lord on August 3, 2021 at the age of 79.  He was born on October 7, 1941 to his mother Ruth Vasquez Gauna and father Jose Andres Gauna in San Antonio, Texas. Jose was a lover of music, and enjoyed playing the drums. He loved spending time with his family relaxing outside and making everyone laugh by telling some of his best cheesy jokes.

Jose spent some of his last years visiting his wife in the nursing home, bringing her food, keeping her company, and bringing a smile to her face. Jose will always be remembered for having a big heart, and willing to make everyone around him feel welcomed.

Jose is survived by his wife, Maria Silvia Gauna, and their children Joe Andrew Gauna, Sandra Gauna, and Bernardo Gauna. Jose was a grandfather to many grandchildren, and a wonderful brother to his sisters Amelia Gauna Noriega, Elizabeth Gauna Robbins, and Mary Ruth Gauna (Cuquita). Jose was also a proud uncle and friend.

Jose will be honored in a small ceremony at Castillo Funeral Home on Saturday, August 14, 2021 from 12:00 pm -4: 00 pm with a small prayer service at 1:30 pm followed with some words from family members.
