Joe N. Lopez went to be with the Lord on November 14, 2022, at the age of 81.

Jose was born on March 5, 1941, in San Antonio Texas to the late Jesusita and Jose Maria Lopez. Those who knew Joe quickly recognized two important matters close to his heart. His Catholic faith and the love he had for his family. Together, Jose and his late wife Dolores shared a 40-year adventure and marriage together. He cherished not just his wife but his most precious gifts from the Lord, his children, Jo Anne, Isabel, Beki, Ruby, Josie, Ralph, and Yolanda.

Jose was a devoted member of the Catholic faith. He and his wife were very involved with their home parish, St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church. He was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus for 32 years.

Prior to his stroke, he was very involved with the church festivals, family retreats and posadas. He took pride in raising his children in the Catholic community which set the foundation for their deep faith living a life the way Jesus professed.  Through his faith those he leaves behind can be sure he is in heaven reunited with those who went before him. His capacity for generosity knew no bounds. He was someone who would help anyone in need. Jose loved when family and friends would get together for holidays or to share stories and memories of the past. Those times and moments exist in our memories and will be cherished forever.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Dolores D. Lopez; and parents Jesusita Nerio Lopez and Jose Maria Lopez.

He is survived by his children, Jo Anne Lujan (Fernando), Isabel Piña, Beki Reina (Andres), Ruby Diaz-Cabrera, Josie Resendez, Ralph Vigil Sr. (Laura), and Yolanda Lopez; 22 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Sylvia Sanchez (Luis) and Irene L. Uresti; in addition to numerous extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 28, 2022, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 6:00 pm.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church at 10:00 am followed by interment at San Fernando II Catholic Cemetery.
