Obituary

Jose 'Joe' Marmolejo, 93, widow of Olga Monica Marmolejo, died in the early hours of Thursday morning, January 19, 2023, in his residence surround in love, comfort, and faith. He was born on June 10, 1929, in San Antonio, Tx., a son of the late Elodia and Petronilo Marmolejo.

Joe proudly served with the United States Army from 1948 to 1952. Prior to his retirement at Kelly Air Force Base, he was employed in civil service. Joe enjoyed the simple pleasures in life; great conversation, helping someone smile, feeling hopeful for loved one's futures, then witnessing that success come. His capacity for generosity knew no bounds as he was someone who would help anyone in need with support, encouragement, and guidance. He and Olga shared 40 years of matrimony and one finds comfort in knowing together they are reunited after all those years apart. A husband, father, and grandfather who will be remembered forever by those who knew him.

In addition to his wife, Olga M. Marmolejo, who died April 11, 2004, and his parents, Elodia, and Petronilo Marmolejo, he was also preceded in death by his siblings, Mary, Santos, Alex, and Tony Marmolejo; great granddaughter, Haylee Garay; and two sons, Peter Salas, and Anthony Dominguez.

Family members include daughters, Monica Marmolejo, Sharon Robinson, and Pearl Robinson; grandchildren, Jessica Marmolejo, David Martinez, Ashley Sifuentes (Richard), Amber Espinoza, and Brian Navarro; great grandchildren, Avery Robinson, Juelz Robinson, Jaden Martinez, Jayvion Martinez, Julian Espinoza, Aiden Espinoza, Amaris Espinoza, and Amaya Espinoza; a niece, Teri Davila; in addition to numerous extended family and friends.

The family will receive guests from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, February 8, 2023, in the Castillo Funeral Home Chapel with a rosary recited at 11 a.m. A funeral mass will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wed. Feb 8, 2023, at St. Agnes Catholic Church. A committal service will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
