Jose Maria Rios Aguirre passed away peacefully on April 8, 2025, at the age of 81 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born in Montemorelos, Nuevo León on June 17, 1943.

Jose worked a variety of jobs, ranging from a migrant worker in Texas and Idaho to a bus driver for the Los Fresnos School District. Most notably he worked as a security officer with Valley Wide Security in Brownsville, Texas.

He enjoyed landscaping, carpentry and mechanics. He loved singing and dancing to songs by Pepe Aguilar, Los Cadetes de Linares, Vicente Fernandez, Jose Alfredo Jimenez, Javier Solis and many other artists. He was a great storyteller and prankster.

He has gone to be reunited with his son Jose Manuel, parents Manuel and Maria Rios, sisters Ramona, Alicia, Amelia and brothers Juan Manuel, Raul and Ramiro.

Left to cherish his memory are his life partner Raquel Espinoza; his children; Josefina Lopez, Jesus Rios (Mirta); Cristina Rios, Maria Juanita Arredondo (Juan); Jose Maria Rios Jr. (Isabel); Ricardo Rios, and Elizabeth Rios; sisters Ludivina and Elvia and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jose will be greatly missed by all who loved him. May he rest in peace.
