Josefina P. Alonzo, born August 8th, 1961 in San Antonio, Texas has entered into eternal rest on August 30th, 2023 at the age of 62.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 43 years Alfredo Alonzo Sr.,  and Parents Enrique and Salome Pena, brother Marcos Pena, brother Johnny Pena, Sister Carmen Pena, sister Alicia Pena, brother Domingo Pena, brother Joe Pena, and father in-law Jesus Alonzo Sr.

Josefina is survived by her loving children, daughter Priscilla (Juan) Alonzo, Sons Alfredo (Stacee) Alonzo, Ricardo (Jessica) Alonzo,it

Emilio (Juliet) Alonzo. Brothers Ricky (Margie) Pena, Manuel (Olivia) Pena, Sisters Gloria (Rudy) Vasquez, Linda (Juan) Olivarez, Mary

(James) Lappin, Sister in-law Delia Pena, half brothers, Fernando Pena, Armando Pena, sister Bertha Pena, and mother in-law Anita E. Alonzo; and 11 grandchildren, numerous nephews, nieces, and other relatives and friends.

Josefina Alonzo was a retired bus assistant for N.I.S.D. who also attended South San high school. She was a very hardworking, friendly, outgoing person who could make you smile and laugh with her beautiful soul. She loved to spend all her time with her family and grandkids. She also liked to spend her time cooking, shopping, listening to music and dancing. She loved barbecues and watching football. Josefina loved going to the coast every summer with her family, waking up early and  cooking breakfast for us all. Her family called her breakfast  "Grandma's grand slam", then after that we would  head out to the beach for a swim and  later watch the sunset in the horizon. She was always ready for an adventure. She will always be remembered as a loving, caring mother, grandmother, and relative, and friend. We love you Josefina, go in peace, as your memory will live in our hearts forever.

Services for Josefina Alonzo will be held at Castillo Funeral Home Sunday September 10th, 2023. Visitation 3:30pm-8:00pm. Rosary begins at 6:00pm. Church Mass will be held on Monday September 11th, 2023 at 9:00am Holy Name Catholic Church with interment following at Mission Park South Cemetery. A procession will depart from Castillo Funeral Home at 8:30am.
