It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our mother Josie (Josephine O. Barrientes) She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on April 4, 2026,at 96 years of age.

She is proceeded in death by her husband Lurden and son's Frank and Julio Barrientes. She is survived by sons Lurden and Luis (Louie) Barrientes and daughter, Sylvia Ramirez , many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Josie retired from the San Antonio School District after 40 years of service. She loved serving the children at school. Her final post was Rhodes middle school. She was passionate about her alma mater Fox Tech High School and was their loudest supporter every year come FIESTA at the parades. She was known for her great cooking skills and loved to host holidays and family gatherings. Her door was always open for family and friends. She had a servants heart and loved to support her church, community, family, friends and even strangers.

Service will be held at Castillo Funeral Home, 520 N. General McMullen San Antonio, TX 78228.
Visitation: Wednesday, April 15, 2026 5 PM to 8 PM, rosary @ 6:00.
Mass of the resurrection on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at 10 AM at Our Lady of Guadalupe on El Paso with burial to follow at San Fernando cemetery number two. 746 Castroville Rd., San Antonio, TX
