Josephine Rodriguez, loving mother to 2 daughters, passed away in San Antonio, Tx on January 1, 2025, leaving a void her family cannot fill.

Josie, as she preferred to be called, was born in Miles City, Montana on June 7, 1956 to Miguel F Rodriguez and Soledad Hernandez.  Josie moved to Texas as a young girl, and eventually settled in San Antonio.  Josie began her career with SAISD in 1986, working through every position available to her. Once she received her GED in 1987, she finally embarked on her mission to become a manager.  She retired from SAISD as a Food Service Manager in April 2012, after 26 years of service.  She was successful in her tasks and developed many meaningful and lasting friendships.  Josie was a tough but fair manager and gained the respect of her employees.  She loved to listen to oldies and Tejano music and dance to them. Josie was an avid Dallas Cowboys and San Antonio Spurs fan.  Her grandchildren were her prides and joys.  She will be greatly missed by everyone.

Josie is survived by her 2 daughters, Michelle Gomez Czajka (John) and Janie Marie Gomez-Herring (Marvin), 9 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 5 sisters, 4 brothers and numerous nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held at Castillo Funeral Home on January 13, 2025, 520 N General McMullen Drive, San Antonio, Tx 78228 from 4 pm-8 pm.  We will be praying the Rosary at 6 pm.  There will also be a graveside service at 10 am on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at San Fernando Cemetery II, located at 746 Castroville Rd, San Antonio, Tx 78237.
