Joshua James Muñiz, 35, went to be with the Lord on May 29, 2024. He was born on August 1, 1988, in San Antonio, Texas, a son of Juan Alberto Muñiz and the late Debbie Muñiz.

Joshua accomplished much in life and enjoyed the simplest pleasures in life. As a husband, he was loyal and protective. As a father he was supportive and placed the needs of his children above his own. As a brother and friend he was available and ready to make everyone smile because he loved telling jokes. He was an avid fan of fishing, singing loud and dancing, especially to cumbias. His sudden departure from this world makes his time in this world seem all too brief. Now he protects us in a different way. One day we will all be reunited once again.

In addition to his mother Debbie Muñiz, Joshua is also preceded in death by his grandfather, Miguel Muñiz. Family members include his wife of 12 years Valerie Muñiz; children, Alani Danielle Muñiz, Joshlynn Jade Muñiz, Joshua James Muñiz Jr, Savannah Muñiz, Emeral and Miria; father, Juan Alberto Muñiz; siblings, John Muñiz, Beatrice Muñiz and Joseph Muñiz; nieces and nephews, Debbie Rose, Natalie, Amiya, Christian, Matthew and Aaron, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members and friends.

The family will receive guests at Castillo Funeral Home on Thursday, June 20, 2024, from 4:00 pm  until 8:00 pm for visitation and at 6:00 pm for a rosary service. A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, June 21, 2024, at 10:00 am in the Castillo Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow with a graveside service at San Fernando Cemetery III.
