Joshua Joseph Orta passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at the age of 25. He was born on November 18, 2000 in San Antonio, Texas. Joshua was a true light in the lives of everyone that knew him. Joshua loved to play basketball and enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and San Antonio Spurs play. He was a car enthusiast and enjoyed taking care of his vehicles. Joshua enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and created beautiful memories that will forever be cherished. Joshua prioritized his mom's happiness over his own and loved to make her smile. His legacy of love and laughter will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. Joshua will be missed by all those that knew and loved him. Joshua is reunited in heaven with his maternal grandparents Josefina Ortega Mandujano and Paul Armando Morado, uncles Paul "Craby" Mandujano, Jose Luis Mandujano, Richard Morado and John Orta, cousin Fernando Mora and best friend Ruben Ray Martinez. Joshua is deeply loved and will be forever missed by his Mother Virginia Mandujano, Father Joe Roland Orta, Step Father John Albert Arriaga, siblings Paul Angel Mandujano, Jazmin Josephine Mandujano, Step Sister Starleen Lanae Arriaga, Joe Roland Orta , Jr., Joann Orta Nieves, Daeja Joelyn Orta and Julie Ann Orta Banda, Paternal Grandparents Roland Mendoza Orta and Maria Morales Orta, Aunts Sandra Orta Hernandez, Lisa Orta, Rosemary Ortega, Frances Mandujano, Janie Mandujano and Guadalupe Morado, uncles David Orta, Roland Orta Jr and Fernando Ortega, girlfriend Michaela Benavides, plus numerous cousins, family, and friends. Visitation will be held at Castillo Funeral Home on Sunday, March 8, 2026 from 4 pm to 8 pm with a Rosary to be recited at 6 pm. On Monday, March 9, 2026 the family will have a 10 am Funeral Chapel Service then interment to follow at San Fernando Catholic Cemetery.
