Josie Araujo, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, gained her wings on August 13, 2024, surrounded by her children, after a brief battle against uterine cancer.  She was 85 years old.

Josie was born on October 24, 1938, in San Antonio, Texas, to Felipe and Petra Perez. She was the second youngest of seven children. She enjoyed spending time with her family, good meals, and lemon pie.

Josie is preceded in death by her parents, Felipe and Petra Perez; her brothers, Alvino Perez, Felipe Perez, Jr. Reynaldo Perez, Juan Perez; her sisters, Reyna Delgado and Maria Vega; her husband of 34 years, Guadalupe Araujo; daughter, Irene Gracia; son-in-law, Alfredo Medellin; and grandchildren, Benjamin Cisneros, Lisa Gracia, and Benny Cisneros Jr.

She leaves behind four daughters, Betty Ann Aguilar (Jose), Rosa Maria Araujo, Debra Ann Cisneros, and Leticia Olivarez(Alfredo); two sons, Guadalupe Araujo, Jr. (Georgina), and Juan Manuel Araujo (Gloria); a grandson who she raised, Gilbert Araujo (Rebecca); 20 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all her family, friends, and everyone who knew her.
