Guerrero
March 20, 1948 – August 10, 2024
Juan J. Guerrero, 76, husband of Mary Alice R. Guerrero, went to be with the Lord on August 10, 2024. He was born on March 20, 1948, in San Antonio, Texas, a son of the late Maria and Joe Guerrero.
Juan led a remarkable life filled with his passions and accomplishments. He graduated from Luther Burbank High School in 1967. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a civil engineer at Lackland Air Force Base.
He was fond of watching twilight zone marathons. An avid sports fan whose favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys. Juan was generous with his time, support, encouragement and guidance who especially loved spending time with family. He was deeply respected and loved by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
We will forever cherish the memories of Juan's remarkable life and the impact he made on all those who knew him.
He is reunited in heaven with his parents Maria R. Guerrero and Joe M. Guerrero, and a sister, Alicia Guerrero Bock.
Family members include his wife of 52 years, Mary Alice R. Guerrero; two daughters, Angela Guerrero Zendejas (Raul M. Zendejas) and Rosanne G. Ortega; four grandchildren, Alyssa Rae Ortega, Brandon Rene Ortega, Lauren Guerrero Zendejas and Tristan Rey Ortega; one great-grandson, Israel Reed Ortega-Flores; three brothers, Martin S. Guerrero, Adolph Raymond "Duffy" Guerrero and Anthony Julian Guerrero; in addition to numerous extended family members and friends.
The family will receive guests at Castillo Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, from 8:30 am until 10:00 am for visitation. A funeral procession will depart at 10:00 am to St. James Catholic Church for a Rosary Service at 10:30 am and a funeral mass at 11:00 am. Burial will follow immediately after where a committal service will be conducted with full military honors at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
