Obituary

Juan Alberto Narvaez went to be with our Lord on May 30, 2022, at the age of 73.

Juan was born on July 12, 1948, in San Antonio, Texas to the late Pioquinto and Ramona Narvaez. Together Juan and Juanita shared a forty-seven-year adventure and marriage together. He played an enormous role in the lives of his four daughters, then grandchildren, who were the pride and joy of his life. Juan enjoyed the simple pleasures of life; great conversations, making someone smile, feeling hopeful for the future of those he knew. As the neighborhood mechanic, he will be immensely missed.

He inspired those around him to be better individuals. His capacity for generosity knew no bounds. He was someone who would help anyone in need with support, encouragement, and guidance. Juan loved when family and friends got together. Those times exist in our memories and will be cherished forever. We loved his caring ways, he will be deeply missed, and his memory will live on.

There are no words that can express the feelings in our hearts. Thank you for your prayers and support during this difficult time. Your shared memories, comforting condolences and gestures of love are truly appreciated.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Narvaez; grandson, Evan Ramirez; granddaughter, Dominique Orta; parents, Pioquinto and Ramona Narvaez; brothers, Pioquinto Narvaez and Juan Narvaez; and son in law, Joe Phillip Hernandez.

He is survived by his children, Lydia Hernandez, Annette Orta (Phillip), Elizabeth Deluna (Steve), and Nicole Ramirez (Ramiro); seventeen grandchildren; ten greatgrandchildren; siblings, Ramona Lara, Maria Broome, Carmen Briones, and Paula Gomez; in addition to numerous extended family and friends.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at Castillo Funeral Home from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 pm. On Thursday, June 16, 2022, a funeral mass at 10:30 am will be held at St. Joseph-South San Catholic Church with interment to follow at San Fernando Cemetery III.
