Juanita
Mccauley
June 24, 1942 – January 15, 2023
Juanita McCauley (Janie) was the 3 rd child of 5 children born to Margarita nee Cervantes and Francisco Garcia. Born on June 24, 1942. She entered eternal rest on January 15, 2023, to be reunited with the love of her life, James (Tony) McCauley.
Janie was the mother of three wonderful boys: Lawrence (Larry), Sean, and Patrick. She was a joyful, modest, and social individual. She took pride in taking care of the household and raising her children.
Janie loved dancing to Tejano music with her husband and going to family events. She was an avid bowler who enjoyed the Ladies League and was a member for many years. Throughout the years she loved to watch the Spurs, as she was a true Fan. She had many friends and was a well-loved member of the community in the city she adored (San Antonio, TX). Janie had a smile that would light up a room, a calm sweet demeanor she would say "I'm not fancy" but to us she was. She had a way of listening and hearing us, providing excellent insight from her years of experience.
Janie's sweet and subtle way of influencing us always produced a positive outcome, she impacted our lives tremendously. She was a pro when it came to family and was always there when we needed her. Her entire life she was faithful to Jesus Christ and for over 56 years she attended St. Benedict's Catholic Church. Janie was a proud member of the Familia Guadalupana an organization that shares the Catholic faith, Mexican culture, and heritage with an emphasis in honoring Our Lady of Guadalupe to the community.
Janie was united in marriage to the love of her life James (Tony) McCauley. They were married for 46 years until his passing in 2010. Janie was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Francisco, and Margarita Garcia, 2 sisters Olivia Gonzales, and Irene Martinez. She is survived by two siblings Beatrice Ortega and Francisco Garcia Jr. Her three children Lawrence (Larry) McCauley & his wife Sandra, Sean McCauley & his wife Glenda, & Patrick McCauley, eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, many nephews, nieces and a host of relatives and friends.
May she rest in Peace
