Juanita Rios passed away peacefully at her home on May 18, 2022 at the age of 93 years old. She was born in Naranjo, Texas on November 24, 1928 to parents Maximo Villarreal and Marta Salinas. In 1946, she married Pedro Rios, who preceded her in death in 1998.

She was also preceded in death by brothers and sisters Margarito Villarreal, Gregorio Villarreal, Pablo Villarreal, Tanislado Villarreal, Ferman Villarreal, Casimiro Villarreal, Antonio Rios, Maria Villarreal, Simona Lamp, and Reyna Leal. Juanita will be missed by her living brother, Juan Villarreal and her numerous nieces and nephews.

Juanita treasured the beautiful memories she created with her big family throughout her 93 years of life. She was a big fan of prayer and was known to pray daily. She worked hard in the fields to provide for her family and was very proud of the fact that she was able to take care of all her kids and even extend her help to some of the grandkids. She was happiest in the kitchen making meals for her loved ones. She also loved to plant roses in her garden and take care of her many animals.

Juanita is also preceded in death by her daughters and sons Gregoria Rios, Pedro Rios Jr., Raul Rios, Herlinda Rios, and Jesse Rios (Belinda).

She is loved and will be missed by her children Santos Rios, Robert Rios (Roberta), Joe Rios (Sylvia), Lydia M. Gomez (Eric), Ferman Rios, Celia Ateno (Andres), Malinda Aguiñaga (Antonio), Marina Rios Salinas (Guadalupe); 36 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family and friends.
