Juanita S. Flores

Juanita (Janie) S. Flores passed peacefully from this life the morning of Wednesday, April 22, 2026, after a gradual decline in health. She was surrounded and supported by her loving family and caregivers during the last days of her life. Janie was born in Llano, Texas on February 21, 1937.

Janie is survived by her two sisters, Cilvia (Hernando) Hernandez and Mary Isabel Flores-Jones. She is survived by 28, 75 great nieces and nephews, 54 great-great nieces and nephews, and 3 great-great-great nieces and nephews. Preceded by her parents, Beatrice and Santana Flores, siblings Julia Gonzales, Mary Rodriguez, Jose Flores, Santana Flores Jr. and nephews Richard Flores and Raul Rodriguez Jr.

Janie was a devoted sister, aunt, and friend to many. She lived a full life and in her younger years she traveled and helped pick cotton working alongside her family on immigrant plantations. Janie worked as a Manager for her family's restaurant, B&S Café and worked 30 years for TG&Y as a Manager retiring in 2002. Hobbies she enjoyed were spending time with family and friends, she was a devoted Catholic that also loved dancing, sewing, traveling, and sharing stories. Janie was an avid San Antonio SPURS fan and praised her SPURS daily. All services in memory of Janie will be in San Antonio SPURS colors. Go SPURS Go!

A wake service will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, with visitation from 4:00pm to 8:00pm and a rosary at 6:00pm at the Castillo Funeral Home. Location: 520 N. General McMullen, San Antonio, TX 78228. On Wednesday, May 6, 2026, we will leave the funeral home at 10:00am for Mass at St. Jude’s Catholic Church beginning at 10:30am. Location: 130 S. San Augustine Ave., San Antonio, TX 78237. Interment will follow the mass at San Fernando Cemetery #2 at 746 Castroville Rd., San Antonio, TX 78237. A celebration of life will follow immediately after the burial at St. Jude’s Catholic Church Hall
