Juanita "Janie" S. Vela entered eternal rest on Saturday morning June 27, 2020 at the age of 65. She was a native Texan and born in San Antonio on August 12, 1954. She was known to those that loved her as Janie. Janie is preceded in death by her father, Manuel C. Salazar. She is survived by her mother, Josefina Salazar; three children: Oliver Vela, Priscilla Aguillon (George), Manuel Salazar (Victoria); sisters: Alma Salazar and Linda Salazar Sanchez (Juan); grandchildren; George Aguillon II (Samantha), Christian Vela, Alyssa Aguillon, Camryn Vela, Mia Salazar; great-granddaughters: Adalee and Ezlyn Aguillon; and many nephews, nieces, as well as great-nephews and nieces. Janie was a loyal and generous soul, not only to her immediate family, but to extended family and friends as well. She would go above and beyond to make others happy. She loved unconditionally and you felt her love radiate when she gave you warm embraces. She was the comedian of the family and always had the family laughing with her witty responses. She would always say "I will gladly pay you next Tuesday for a hamburger today." Whenever the family had the chance, they would honor her request. She will be greatly missed by her loved ones. The family extends their deepest gratitude for the out pouring of love and support of our beloved Janie Vela.
