Julia L. Aguero was joined with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 2, 2019. She was 71. She was born in San Antonio, Texas, on April 12, 1948. Julia enjoyed being a homemaker because she delighted in cooking and caring for her husband and family. Sitting on the porch and enjoying her Tejano music was a source of joy for her, as well. She loved fishing. One could always count of Julia for shopping, as she loved clothes. Her loved for her parish of St. Alphonsus was well-known to her family. They recalled their mother filling jars with dimes. Once filled, Julia would give the money to the Lord. She was a generous woman. Her kindness was not to be mistaken for weakness. Indeed, as the matriarch of the house, when that "chancla" flew, it never missed the intended target.

Julia is loved and will be greatly missed by her husband of 56 years, Joe T. Aguero; daughters, Jo Ann Sotello (celestino) and Josie Luna; grandchildren, Jasmine, Gabriella, Joshua, Joe Rudy and Ruben Luna Jr., Samantha Gonzalez and Julian Sotello; great-grandchildren, Kayleen and Fabian Luna; sister, Patsy Maldonado; brothers, Roger and Albert Luna; nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends.

Visitation will be held at Castillo Mission Funeral Home from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Monday, December 16, 2019, with a Rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. A Funeral Procession will depart the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday, December 17, 2019, for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. Interment will follow at San Fernando Cemetery II. Services under the direction of Castillo Mission Funeral Home.
