Julian G. Ortegon passed away on May 1, 2024, at the blessed age of 82 years old. He was born on April 1, 1942, in San Antonio, Texas, to the late Juan and Agueda Ortegon. Julian was a hardworking man, a devoted Husband, and an amazing Father and Grandfather. He loved nothing more than spending time with his family. He also loved taking his boys to wrestling matches and loved to go fishing as much as possible. He devoted his career to working in the slaughterhouse for L&H Meat Packing Company. His most precious accomplishment in life was the beautiful family he created with his loving wife of 62 years. They stood in a wedding together in 1956, and from that moment, Julian and Lupe formed a bond that led to marriage, and eventually a family complete with 6 children. Julian loved his family to the moon and back, and his traditions and values will live on through them for eternity. He is reunited in Heaven with his parents Juan and Agueda Ortegon, twin sister Margarita Munoz, his daughter Terry Alvarez, son Jesse Ortegon, brothers Juan Ortegon Jr., Jose Ortegon, and Ralph Ortegon; and sisters Teodora Herrera and Sylvia Ortegon. Julian is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Guadalupe "Lupe" C. Ortegon; son Julian Ortegon Jr. (Cindy); daughter Debbie Torres (Jesse); sons Richard Ortegon (Agueda)and Roger Ortegon (Michelle); 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; brothers Tom Ortegon, Robert Ortegon, Richard Ortegon, Andrew Ortegon, and Gilbert Ortegon; as well as numerous extended family and friends. Visitation will take place on Friday, May 10, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary to begin at 6:00 p.m. Services to conclude Friday evening.
