Julian Joel
Rivera
March 5, 1997 – July 20, 2024
Julian Joel Rivera, known affectionately as River, passed away on July 20, 2024, at the age of 27, in his hometown of San Antonio, TX. Born on March 5, 1997, also in San Antonio, Julian was a beacon of determination and ambition throughout his life.
From 2016 to 2020, Julian proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, where he embraced the rigor and discipline that defined his character. His commitment to excellence was evident in every aspect of his military career, and his service to the country was a significant chapter in his life.
After his honorable discharge, Julian transitioned to civilian life and began working at HEB in 2021, where he remained until his passing in 2024. His work ethic and dedication made him a respected team member and a favorite among his colleagues.
Julian's passion extended beyond his professional life into his personal interests, particularly his love for cars. This hobby was not just a pastime but a reflection of his meticulous and detailed nature. He found joy and relaxation in working on cars, often spending hours tinkering to make every detail perfect.
Julian is survived by a loving family who cherished every moment with him: his grandmother, San Juana Cabrera; mother, Tabitha Cabrera and step-father, Chris Hernandez; father, Kevin Ross; son, Jonathan Rivera; brothers, Moses Ross, Isaac Ross, and Jacob Hernandez; aunts, Esmeralda and Flor Estella Cabrera; along with beloved cousins and numerous nonrelated uncles. His family remembers him as a pillar of strength and a source of inspiration.
Julian's life was a testament to his unwavering resolve and the deep love he had for his family and friends. He will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
