Justin Antonio Gonzales entered eternal rest on March 14, 2022, at the age of 15.
Justin was born April 10, 2006, in San Antonio, Texas. He lived his early years in Del
Río, Texas where he began participating in organized team sports. He played Tee-Ball
with the Cardinals and his team was coached by his "Padre". Justin also participated in
several Summer Youth Programs throughout the City Of Del Rio, Church Summer
Camps, Del Rio High School Youth Football Camps, and the Laughlin AFB Youth
Center. Some of the activities he enjoyed at the camps were swimming, Taekwondo,
and track & field. He attended Warren and Taft high schools in San Antonio where he
participated in track & field and football programs. Football and weightlifting were his
passions. He loved playing basketball with friends, and he had a thirst for all type of
athletic competitions. Justin's smile and trademark dimples would light the darkest of
rooms and his loyalty to his family and friends was one of his greatest qualities. He
loved to dance and wanted others to enjoy every moment with him. He loved spending
his summers in Del Rio where his free spirit would run wild working on outdoor
construction projects with his "Padre", riding his 4 wheelers until the sun would set and
then would still continue riding! There wasn't a body of water he would pass up without
doing his acrobatic front and back flips into them. Family and friends will continue to
honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest. That's the only way Justin knew how
to live!
Preceding him in death are his Great-Grandpas: Guadalupe A. Flores and Antonio
Gonzales, Sr. Those left behind to cherish his loving memory are his Mother, Samantha
Cortez (Jerry) and his Father, Anthony Gonzales; Siblings: Felicity Cortez, Jr. Cortez,
Anthony J. Gonzales, and Joziah Cortez; Grandparents: Antonio "Padre" and Theresa
Gonzales, Jr. and Grandma: Rose Ann Leyva; Great-Grandmas: Cruz Stella Flores and
Marina T. Gonzales; Aunts and Uncles: Janelle Huerta, Lesley Flores, Delilah Ramirez,
Sabrina Gonzales Beltran (Jesus Julian), and Andrew Gonzales (Madelynn Ortiz); and
numerous Cousins, Great Aunts/Uncles, Family, and Friends who loved him.
