Kathleen Kelley Cano, age 60, died peacefully in her home on May 26th after losing her battle with cancer. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and educator. She is survived by her husband, Rick, and their three sons, Rudy (Dlynn) of Monahans, Texas, Charlie and Ricardo (Jordan) of San Antonio, as well as two grandchildren, Brody and Olivianna of Monahans, Texas, and an adopted daughter, Daniella Alexandra of San Antonio. She leaves behind two brothers, Mike (Rhonda)Kelley of Beaver, PA, Jim (Becky) Kelley of President Township, PA, a sister, Pattie (Greg) Kelley Fuller of Burlington, WI and a cousin, Penny Culbertson of Franklin, PA. She had numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, as well as a multitude of dear friends and former students. She is preceded in death by her mother, Faith Hovis and her father, Charles Kelley.
Kathleen was born on July 25, 1961 in Oil City, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Venango Christian High School in Oil City. She attended the University of Texas - Pan Am and earned both a bachelor's and master's degree in speech communication/education. She was an awesome teacher and her students loved her. She taught for many years in three Texas school districts: Donna ISD, PSJA - North ISD and San Antonio ISD.
A Catholic Memorial Service is scheduled for Saturday, June 11 at 12 noon at Castillo Funeral Home at 520 N General McMullen in San Antonio,Texas. The family would like to thank her niece, Julissa Zuniga, for her steadfast, loving and devoted care. The family would also like to thank Good Shepherd Hospice whose staff provided truly wonderful care.
